OP, it could just be that some genius applying to Loanfinder gave them the wrong phone number and you ended up with the texts intended for the real applicant.

Thanks, after reading the responses on here I logged on to the Loanfinder website and input the user/pass they provided me with. It came up with a previous address of mine, an email address I hadn't even heard of but, interestingly, the name given was Mr *name-of-my-previous-business* *name-of-my-previous-business*. i.e. say I had owned a company called Mappin Webb it was Mr Mappin Webb.

Not sure if this points to fraudulent activity or merely a fabricated computer-generated application (the main phone number for this business I used to have was my mobile number, hence why this may have been included on the application).

I emailed the above info to Loanfinder on Saturday, stating that I wouddl be contacting the Police on Monday and have not had a response from them yet.

Maybe something to nothing but the MCO Capital scam surrounded mostly company directors.

Someone has been peddling out the details of Company Directors to scamsters. There is a massive thread about MCO and the imaginary loans these people are being requested to repay.

    Just a thought...
  • Wow, I can't believe it, this thread is still up. I'm guessing it's because Henry has not been on here yet. Lets hope he doesn't because I think it's him they get pulled, not Loanfinder in general.

Funny one this. Because information was not completed I would say that it was an application mix up, not anything dodgy. When you logged in did they have any of your information apart from your mobile number?

I suppose the only credit you can give Loanfinder is at least they sent that text message saying a payment was going to be taken. Imagine if they hadn’t, like most companies, money would have just been taken with no knowledge. Quite refreshing really.

she already said her old address wa son the user login page, bit dodgey if you ask me, it does seem scamsters or fishing bots have found your old company and decided to try to get a loan through its details. does it have any details of the bank account that the loan will be paid into and the repayments taken out of? because surely if your details are in to get a loan you will have noticed your balance go up and then you will see the payments coming out.
  • Tread carefully but there are contacts for them on this page;.

Or has Henry been PPR'd as a consequence of the activity ?

It does sound like he may not be alone in his dealings with Loanfinder as the OP has illustrated.

Don't forget we're talking about a broker here, not a lender. Sarah would have to contact whoever Loanfinder put her through to first. Don't worry, with everything we've heard about this company I have never heard of anyone reporting that money has been paid into their account without their knowledge. Just get in contact with them and make sure that no money is going to be taken and that you're removed from their database.
