Loanfinde.co.uk - panic!!
I received a text message today from Loanfinder.co.uk saying "Thank you for your loanfinder application. You can login with username USER and a password of PASSWORD to access your account".
A few minutes later I received a second text message which read "This is confirmation that your Loanfinder service fee payment of £37.87 is due to be taken on 17/01/11".
Now all this is very worrying as I have never heard of Loanfinder.co.uk, have not applied for any loans (EVER). Having looked at their website I notice there is no phone number to contact them and I am reluctant to email them in case this is some kind of phishing scam and they are trying to get me to respond in some way.
The alternative is that someone has somehow applied for a loan and given my phone number (as I have had no email contact from them and the text message didn't reveal my own name) inadvertently.
The only other thing I can think of is that I have recently renewed my home and car insurance and am paying monthly for these. Could it be that for some reason my payments will go through Loandfinder.co.uk?
Please help, I am slightly worried! Thanks.

Any mention of LoanFinder will have your post deleted.
They have power on here."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Sorry I had no idea just looking for some advice :-(0

Henry Hammer is in the process of taking them to court.
Each and every one of his posts on here gets deleted, loanfinder are ever present on MSE reporting every post about them to abuse to get the posts removed.
Henry's claim is much the same as yours, he has never heard of them but they have been trying to dip into his account. When he complained they were rude so he is going to bring the scammers down through the courts.
Hearing is in February.0 -
I would report it to your bank, that there may be fraudent activity on your account.
I've had emails from companies before saying your loan is as follow and a fee will be taken, but I just think it's a way of getting you to call them, so they can try to sell you a loan etc.
I would personally email them (maybe from a newly setup email account, so they don't have the one/s you use reguarly) tell them they have 72 hours to respond, or you will be taking the matter further with the police as you will assume you are victim of a attempted fraud. Tell them that you will be informing your bank and credit card companies (if applicable) immediately.0 -
