    seems pretty odd a tv wouldn't have component though...

    Also depending on the age of his xbox 360(assuming it is a 360) HDMI won't be an option. Mine's one of the originals from 05 and it has no HDMI port, maybe you can get a component to HDMI converter? If not I'd be stuffed if my next TV had no component cables.
