Car hit whilst parked - advice on repairs

Hey everyone,

Came out today to find my car all scratched (see pic).. No details left so I guess they drove off, I'm on Third Party Fire and Theft so I can't claim.

Any ideas on the best way forward? Panel repair? New Panel? Will it need spraying if I can get a silver one, or will it match?

Bit gutted really :(

We have a lot of big lorries coming past on a narrow street, so I think it's the tailgate of one that hit it :(

Thanks for sympathy, I need it.. although it could have been worse, it's just one panel that's damaged and not the wheel luckily.. :)

Also, my neighbour pointed out that their neighbours aren't there anymore and house has been empty for a year, so I've cleared the snowy drive and set my car up on their driveway lol.. a lot safer off the road..

Yup I'm thinking breakers, boyfriend has said the colour won't match and it'll need spraying as well. Surely there can't be that many variations in silver 206's?

Get the same silver wing and it'll be a match

Only reason i can see you not getting a match is if either

    A) the panel you pick has already had a respray

    or

    B) the panel you pick has a paint/lacquer defect

I wouldn't worry, get yourself to a couple of scrappies and inspect the panel(s)

Cheers Rossy, I shed a few tears when I saw it this morning, but I think I can get it back to new fairly cheaply :)

If its a genuine one off a silver Pug, they only come in one colour and one spray pattern as they're painted by robots. You won't notice the difference. Get useless boyfriend to change it - its only bolt on. Should be able to do the job DIY for under £50.

not if you get the paint code off the pug and compare to the one at the scrappy..

oh and theres 200+ shades of moondust silver listed for ford  so theres a possibility of lots for pug.. tbh all the silver ones ive seen in the scrappies have looked the same to me..

edit- where you based.. i know several cheap-ish scrappies round near me..

I'm in Howden, East Yorks, but regularly travel to Leeds for uni.. I tried a couple from eBay today that were breaking silver Peugeots, but no luck.. not tried properly yet though.

TBH it can't look worse than it already does.. and if the colour isn't perfect then I'll get it sprayed later on when I have more cash to spare.
