..... so, as a Serious Money Saving Fan, you might support LPG users' efforts to get a more transparent market .. and add your thanks to voisin's post at ...

My neighbour took the plunge and had her Calor lpg tank removed.

She has had an ASHP fitted, (big double fan thing) and installed a multi fuel heater.

I don't know how much all of that costs but it must run into thousands££, and to be honest seems an extreme way of avoiding lpg costs.

Incidently the installation of the ASHP has been a nightmare, its taken over 7 weeks so far and the installers are still 'fiddling' around with it.

Please understand, its not 'just' the price of lpg I object to, its the obfuscation of the lpg suppliers with their reluctance to come clean on pricing.

    Please support the lpg manifesto:

    Hi kittie,

Thanks for your sympathy - appreciated! But I asked for your support in trying to get a fairer deal for LPG users - by adding your 'thanks' to the post at

I'm not currently an LPG user but have added my support anyway as, who knows, I may well be in the future. It does seem a rather unfair situation with LPG at the moment.

Thanks to the very large number who've taken time to read this thread, and to the smaller number who have posted - and many thanks to the few who have added their thanks to this post:
Fairer regulation of LPG gas charges
There should be legislation to regulate the price of domestic LPG gas .
The prices charged are enormously varied and extortionate.
Having to be tied into a 2 year contract enables the supplier to progressively increase prices every few months.
All suppliers should have to openly declare their price per litre.
If anyone else would like to help LPG users get Martin's help please go to

And, as Frankie, says, many of us are NOT complaining about the price - if we're paying a 'reasonable', not an "extortionate", price. We know LPG is one of the more expensive forms of energy - for several reaons. But we can see NO reason for
    • someone being charged 68 pence per litre when the same company is charging someone else only 30 pence.
    • a price drop price from 55 p to 42 p if my supplier locked me into a new 2 year contract!
Lots more stuff on the Bulk LPG thread if you're snowed in - with nothing to do!
    • Warm yourself with horror stories about contracts which major suppliers sign then ignore.
    • Enjoy reading about the major supplier which sends out letters to users saying they are on the supplier's 'standard price' ... but each user reports on the forum a different price. (MSE is really useful!)
So, all support welcome, please. The cheapest Christmas present you'll ever give! Your thanks at:
