I have about a 60GB on my laptop and I have only ever used 15GB of that, so why would most people need 120GB?

I have over 60GB of music, 6GB of photos nearly 2GB of other documents then the OS and games so in total about 100GB of stuff. And it keeps on growing.
That might be why?Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0 -
I dont download music and I dont have a digital camera- so i would never get that much:beer:0

I guess it boils down to what you use your computer for.
For some, it's used for just browsing the internet, and doing other chores such as budgetting, and word processing. And this is as far as some people go. For these purposes, a 120GB hard drive makes no sense at all.
But, then there are people who like to store everything and anything on a computer. Examples of this, as already highlighted by woo, include photos, music, videos, movies, games, etc. This type of media can take up space so quickly that 120GB doesn't last long.0 -
I have a 40Gb HDD, and have now added a 160Gb Drive. The former is stuffed with program files (I do some design work, and tinker with music production). The large drive holds the actual music files and my photos. Only about 20Gb on there at the moment, but like woo.....it just continues to grow.0

My 3 year old computer says it only has a 16.5 GB C drive-- surely it must be more than that???:beer:0

It is surprising how quickly a HDD can fill up.
I have 2 x 160GB drives which hold the following:
Itunes music - approx 50GB
Digital Photos - approx 20GB
General Office type files - approx 5GB
This is then all mirrored on the 2nd 160GB drive as a backup.0 -
I'm the same. I've got a 200gb and 300gb drive.
I like to store all my applications and games on there (as backup and quicker install). Plus I've got about 100gb's worth of encoded music (high bitrates).
Typical things that eat up space are music, videos, and games (or apps). Oh and photo's I guess. I've got a good 5-10gb's worth too."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
I remember having the exact same conversation 10 years ago in sixth form as I was one of the few computer techie types someone was trying to debate with me why on earth anyone would need 100 MEGAbytes of hard disk space as you'd NEVER fill that up.
Currently I've got 2 x 120 GB drives and I've used about just over one hundred. I have quite a bit of music, lots of podcasts and quite a few games but I by no means have all my games installed."She is quite the oddball.
