HTC Wildfire & Tiscali
I have recently purchased a HTC Wildfire from Tescos. Although I can receive emails I cannot reply or send them. I have visited the Tesco phone shops twice and the tec boys have no idea what the problem is. They said to contact Tesco customer service. This I did, their Tec boy said Tesco mobile do not support email - so why are they selling Smart phones. They suggested I go on the Internet and to the Tiscali page, open mail and I could then reply. I really want an instant solution.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix it?
Should I sent the phone back?
All suggestions welcome
thanks
Jonsey

Basically, the Tiscali mailserver will only accept outgoing mail from a Tiscali IP address. (Think of it as a computer connected from a Tiscal internet connection)
You need an outgoing server that works with Tescos. I'm not sure what the situation is here, as they don't provide one at network level.

Tiscalis fault so you have no grounds to return .
Use GMail from phone and set GMail to forward .

as above said go make a free gmail email address, and then tell all your contacts you new gmail address to use, (you can set up gmail to send and recieve email from other accounts but since tiscali requires a tiscali IP address to send that wouldnt work, but you can set gmail to send from that tiscali email anyway)
tere are some very good reasons to make a gmail account if you have android.
1. gmail fully integrates with the handset, email is push so you get it the instant it is sent.
2. it also fully integrates with the calender and contacts, backing them up to gmail so you can view then on the web and also if you loose your phone you dont loose all your contacts.
3. as already said you can set gmail to send and recieve from other accounts (exactly like a mail client on your computer)
4. it also integrates with android for, eg picasa for photo uploading and maps for saving favorite places.
also the big one is if you ever leave tiscali you don't loose your email address as gmail is independant from an ISP
all in all no reason to not have a gmail
