  • most phones have to be unlocked - if its sim free then it would work on any network
i would also check the price of getting the phone unlocked it can vary from cheap to riduclous depending on the model of the phone

I understand about locked handsets the difference with my senario is that Virgin use the T-mobile network this is why I suspect it may work.
The phone is very cheap to buy and wouldn't be work paying more than £2/3 to unlock if it didn't work I'd just put it on ebay.

Unlikely to work as Virgin handsets are usually GID1 locked (as well as SP locked).

However, it should work the other way round (ie Virgin SIM in a T-mobile handset).

Tmobile don't use Virgin, Virgin use Tmobile (I think!)

Correct! Phones are typically locked to the specific network they are sold for regardless of who actually provides the network infrastructure.
