When my kids were similar ages to yours what I liked getting was practical gifts that made my life easier. Cos I wear specs I struggled to see the swimming baths clock to check time and couldn't leave 2 littlies whilst I swam near enough to see, so a waterproof watch was once on my reqest list. Another year, I was about to start college so a holder type bag for my coursework was a godsend. Once I even requested a kitchen clock so I can keep an eye on the time for the school run from the back of the house instead of having to walk to the living room-lol.
Last year I had a decent winter coat.
    What about some nice boots?

I think I would go for the pandora bracelet!!!!!!!!!! :D

I was never overly keen on them but I bought my mum one (she loved them!) with a couple of charms for her birthday in september and I have to admit, it is gorgeous.... My nan also bought her a charm and we have both done the same for christmas!

She wears it all the time and says it is so comfy to wear!

Mum has got me one for christmas!!! :j

It is a very easy gift for someone who is difficult to buy for as you can buy charms for birthdays, mothers day, valentines, xmas etc etc to add to it and they are things that will always mean something as you'll remember when you got them.. if you see what I mean!

Tell the DH to take the £50 and spend it on himself down the pub with his mates so that you can have a night on at home with your toy boy ;o)))) just a thought if you are lacking in attention......

A nice pair of shoes that you'll be able to wear whatever weight you drop down to?

A practical pair of wellies or muck boots for this weather we have been having?

Wii fit or similar, or exercise dvd's to help you along with your weightloss?

    Time with a personal trainer?

    A new pair of trainers?

And MP3 player and/or some music for while you exercise?

Why don't you ask him to just get you a token gift to open and give you the cash and then you can keep it for when you really need something.

My husband i just give each other suprises, why would you feel like you had to choose your own present? are you saying that if you don't tell him what you want, he just gets you nothing? i would hate choosing my own things, there is no suprise if you know what you are getting!!
  • I am like that too, people ask me what i want for crimbo and i can never think of anything i really need/want so they normally give me money. This year my dad gave me £200 but i spent it on the kids cause there wasnt anything i needed and the kids needed new coats and my nana gives me money which i will no doubt spend on my boys too.A night out would be a good idea maybe cinema tickets and a meal?
