Are these suitable for a boot sale?

Hey guys
Ive got a few things lying around the house that i was going to sell on ebay but have not bothered. A few ppl have put me off and said boot sales are only for people willing to spend pennies. I have things like Ugg boots (£40-£60) Juicy Couture tracksuits (£40) Ed Hardy hats (£10) Mac make up brush sets (£25) couple of hoodies, Football kits (top and shorts £20). I thought these were ideal for a boot sale but now I'm not so sure? Anyone got any ideas?

If you want to sell at a boot sale go to the chosen one first and see what sort of prices other sellers achieve for the items you mention.
If you're expecting to get anywhere near the prices you quote in brackets you may need to sell them on Ebay, but be aware that some manufacturers will get a listing removed if you mention their trademarks if the items aren't provably genuine or you aren't an authorised stockist.0 -
Yea I know all about the authorised stockist thing. Im a seasoned "been there and banned" member of eBay. Pretty much defeats the whole object of selling something for cheap if you have to be an authorised to sell it. If that was the case they we would all be paying through the nose for things. Thanks for the reply. Is the boot sale culture 50p stuff or is there people selling things for more expensive?0

I have done a few boot sales, pretty unsuccessfully. People really do want everything for 50p where I live.
As I see it, it's about footfall and being in buying mode.
At this time of year, most people are either out Xmas shopping, or looking for a quick cheap stocking filler. Footfall will be down, people might turn out but just as somewhere to go on their way home. You're limited to people in your area, who bother coming, seeing what you're selling and being persuaded to buy it now.
On the other hand, online, on ebay, people who are looking to buy will come looking for your goods, so all you have to do is make the listing/photos attractive to get them to bid/buy.
I figure ebay will give you a bigger audience, an audience of buyers.0 -

OP has had issues with eBay...
The problem is with the manufacturers/labels, who don't like seeing their items on sale for less than they go for in the shops. It's frustrating, but they have clout, and the image of eBay is pretty bad for the items you mention. Most Uggs on eBay are fake. It can also be hard work convincing a buyer on eBay that a s/h designer item is the real deal.
Boot sales vary. I've usually been to them to get things for very little, but I'm normally interested in collectable items or toys or whatever (big sucker for soft toys, have a large collection of unusual animal toys...seals, foxes, squirrels, owls...) rather than cut-price designer gear. Something to bear in mind is that people often see these as knock-offs wherever you are, so it may be difficult to get the price you want for them. Other people are just out for huge bargains and offer ridiculous amounts of money for stuff.
There is a good boot sale thread somewhere in this forum. With a little bit of searching it will be dug up fairly easily. That might tell you what to expect, but meanwhile, Pembroke has a good point."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Thanks for the reply. Youve more or less enforced the options I have already been given. Ive got a black bag full of old t shirts i think what il do is just take those down for £1 each, have the rest of the stuff in the car, and if anyone is interested then il take it from there. Ebay and paypal are a total scam put together. They take 15% of the money and I have had paypal investigations into an account that was not even conducting business on ebay. I have even had an account locked down with several hundred pound in, even after providing tracking numbers, getting positve feedback and generally running a good account. Stay away is my opinion.0

Honest opinion?
If I saw those on a boot sale I'd instantly think Fake.0
