In addition they were based solely on the internet, with overseas offices and their ISP is likely to be overseas, so the DEPT for Business, Inovation & Skills has no jurisdiction in these areas, whatsoever.
We are satisfied that this has been a long firm fraud.
Law Associates
So who is we then Mike? Whats Law Associates got to do with it?0 -
It is my belief that the UK Government were keen to close VWD down because of the new controls over who may or may not play the UK or Euromillions lotteries. Since December 2010 you have to be resident, and remain so, in the UK when you buy a ticket. VWD, a company based in the UK, were operating syndicates worldwide, which clearly is against the new controls. VWD was never a scam, although pretty bad odds for your money. I played with them for four years and have never had reason to complain. When they closed down I got a full refund of my current subscription. RIP VWD.0

It makes sense, but where can we read the new rules please?

It does seem strange that having closed down vwd there is now a site called BigFatLotteries which seems suspiciously like the same thing. Elsewhere I found someone had tracked down the owner of BFL to be Tom Brodie who also ran vwd.
The thing about vwd's and for that matter BFL's 'system' is that it gives the illusion of being a clever way of playing but mathematically the chances of you winning are exactly the same if you simply bought 44 tickets.
Also their claim to take care of all the hassle doesn't stand up when it's relatively easy to organise your own syndicate and play online at the UK lotto site.0 -

You could be right the email address used uvme.com is linked to elottery.0

A simple Whois of the domain name BigFatLotteries.com shows Tom Brodie as the owner

I want to offer my sympathies to all affiliates and players, i have several friends who had worked hard to build their Businesses
But they weren't building "their businesses" they were building somebody elses (e-lottery in this case). Same with all these pyramid scheme scams."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

Although I was a VWD customer, I always felt there was something a bit fishy about VWD. The marketing, the branding, the pyramid scheme and the Panama address. It all looked a bit dodgy - even if I felt it was quite a good idea.
Anyway, I gave it a go and even had a few small winnings.
But what never occurred to me is, what if they held a jackpot winning ticket? Maybe that's all they've been waiting for? A jackpot to run off with!
Any thoughts?0 -
hmm looks like the top guys have joined with another Company and have started Lovemylotto.com - taken from the affiliate section of their website "And that was going to be our main marketing channel until we met former e-Lottery Affiliates Malcolm Horsey , Neil Verlander, Gigi Field, and Paul Marriott, and e-Lottery’s former head of marketing Mark Davies. Their experience and expertise of promoting lottery syndicates is second to none, which is why we have decided to extend our marketing strategy to embrace a 2-tier Affiliate Program."We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0
