  • I wont shed a tear :) plenty of spammers promoted that crap pyramid scheme on MSE
  • I am not here to argue or discuss elottery if it was good bad or ugly. I am though (well in this case was) an elottery affiliate and I did so by promoting only online to lottery players who found my lottery site.

I agree there were some people who promoted the opportunity by spamming, but then thats probably the same in all businesses online. Everything has the good and the bad.

For me it's just a shame as some people relied on it for their full time incomes, some part time and some spare time.

I would like to wish all affiliates and players good luck for the future in whatever they do next. In six years I have made some good friends both affiliates and players, who will stay with me for years to come.

    A sad day.

About time, the people who actually paid them £3 to get £1 worth of lottery tickets should have a few extra bob for christmas
    (groups of 49 paying £5 each = £245, tickets purchased £88).

Play with 702% better chance of scooping the jackpot!---and only get 2% of the prize

Love or dislike their product its always a shame to here about people that includes their UK staff losing their source of incomes overnight without warning.

Don't worry, when they realise they can simply register abroad then operate the scheme from foriegn climbs, they will be back in business.

I want to offer my sympathies to all affiliates and players, i have several friends who had worked hard to build their Businesses and having been in a similar situation myself with another Company a few years back i know what it feels like when all the effort and work is just gone like that. Its not a feeling i would wish on anyone.

Does this mean that all the credit and debit card details of VWD customers are now safely in a cupboard in Panama.

As the Panama address is now the only way of contacting them as the online access has been removed i would keep a close eye on your bank accounts. ;0)

Edit- just checked my bank account. Virtual world direct has taken £5.

think that's the last i will see of it. If VWD take that amount from all the cards they have someone will have a nice Christmas

Many Business Opportunity Review sites rated this opportunity quite highly. We could not work out the maths of it, and suspected they would run into legal problems eventually. Why were they based in Panama?
The Dept for Innovation & Skills is only a department of the DTI, who (DTI) normally close down outfits like this as 'not in the public interest', therefore this is ONLY a complaint about 'misleading advertising' which is not sufficient to CEASE trading or CLOSE down a company.
There is more to this matter than they are revealing. Maybe they are expecting a closure order, as legal proceedings about advertising complaints are usually dealt with fines, and public notices. They should appoint a liquidator/receiver eventually.

Furthermore the Directors/Owners have gone to considerable trouble registering their outfit in Panama, so any complaint about 'misleading advertising' does not have the effect of CLOSURE, the DTI can have companies closed down against the public interest. In addition they were based solely on the internet, with overseas offices and their ISP is likely to be overseas, so the DEPT for Business, Inovation & Skills has no jurisdiction in these areas, whatsoever.
IT IS NOW CLEAR THAT THE UK HAS LEVIED STRICTER CONTROLS ON THESE TYPES OF WORLDWIDE LOTTERY SYNDICATES.
