comet didnt deliver today.....

Ive been waiting in since 7am for a delivery today from comet - they said 7am - 6pm........just phoned up as it didnt come - they said the van driver went to the wrong address and has brought it back. Now got to wait again tuesday for the item........aaaaaarghgh...the address was wrote correctly on the form so how hard can it be to find a simple address? plus they had my contact number so surely they couldve phoned?

Comet were supposed to deliver my fridge/freezer on tuesday. They didn't even turn up. I called then and apparently the best they can do is tuesday 14th. Not bad huh after being delayed a further 7 days

Definately annoying when they have your phone number and nobody rings. Do the delivery drivers have a phone themselves.

Make you wonder if people have common sense sometimes, I mean get a list of deliveries, can't find address ring customer, surely that isn't too difficult.

Yes they do, and this is the correct board to tell people about those mistakes so that they can make an informed choice about which company to buy from.

Comments about Comet appear on these boards on a very frequent basis (so often in fact that they even appear to have their own registered MSE responder), so when they do happen, why not warn others?

It's not a mistake, it's an example of idiocy.
A big company like that, those kind of "mistakes" don't happen.

Thats the problem though - The bigger the company the more likely it is to make mistakes.

geordieracer - i can only assume you havent had this type of mistake happen yet - when it does i will see if you change your tune. As others have said - this is the board to vent about these mistakes so people can take them on board If I see a firm has a poor reputation I can then choose whether to use them or not.

From the information you have provided I am assuming it is parcel force that are attempting to make the delivery. Although our own delivery service would call before delivering we unfortunately, cannot guarantee this with parcel force.

If they have the correct details I cannot understand why they would attempt to deliver to a different address. I know its not quiet the same but my dad once ordered a phone from Comet for delivery and ended up with 2 PS3's instead - took them weeks to correct the mistake - thankfully my dad was honest (and the PS3's had a different address label under his) and managed to get hold of the person they were meant for
