  • Just tell them you are moving out and no one is moving in...they don't need to know whether it's rented/owned or whether even somebody is moving in afterwards. Just say it's going to be knocked down to make way for a car park if you want to!

    No, in fact I suspect you'll be breaking the DPA if you do, and risk getting a criminal record yourself.

    Say the new occupier's name is "The Occupier". Why they don't accept a simple I don't know I'm not sure is beyond me? They could always do a land registry search to see who owns it now. Or they could speak/write to the local council. Make sure you have proof of the final meter reading. I'd take a picture of the meter reading as proof.

  • You can buy a house, someone else can occupy it.
    If i was buying your house i would be very annoyed if you were giving out details about me.
    Just put yourself in the buyers shoes or tell them.
    Be good to the young on their way up you might need them on your way down.
