Maybe you all drive the wrong kind of car?

If something is expensive, move to a cheaper version.

/me strokes his lotus elise that does 40mpg even when you thrash it.
I get 45-50 mpg out of my van, even my A4 Cab does 45 mpg but I'll be getting rid of that and buying something for the weekend and using the van more.
  • Will have to get a motorbike again soon.

The cost of petrol is absolutely ridiculous and something needs to be done about it a.s.a.p.

Is it really that ridiculous in context against a litre of bottled water or pint of beer.

It's something that a lot of people don't have that much choice in buying, whereas a pint of beer or bottled water are both discretionary items.

Yes. You can't get to work on water or beer, though it would be nice ;)

Well, barcap forecasting 1.84 USD to the UKP next year. And as soon as they announce the pre-election VAT drop, inflation is going to bottom!

Thats not really context though, is it.

Can see what you are saying, but bottled water isn't really a neccesity, neither is a pint, neither do either transport you around. Your context here, appears to simply be that all items come in liquid form.

You can get water from the tap. And you don't need beer in particular to quench your thirst.

In terms of cost a beer will cost me £3,water barley hops??

Oil, transport it halfway across the globe, refine it,£1.21 a litre.

If i cant afford a session on the beer i cutback,if i can't afford to drive everywhere i cut back or get a cheaper motor.
