Just because you get paid early doesn't mean you have to spend it early though!!

We both get paid on the 25th. As Christmas Day is on a Saturday we'll get paid on the 24th. Doesn't make any difference. I don't want it early anyhow. That would just mean that we have to wait all the longer until January's pay day. :D

Always get paid on the 1st of the next month, unless its a Sunday or Bank Holiday, so guess December's wage will be the 3rd Jan at the very earliest. (though it could even be the day after that)

If you have a regular payday every month and it falls on a weekend or bank holiday, you should be paid the Friday before surely? Are you saying when the 1st falls on a Sunday you are not paid until the Monday? Wow.

Generally, we're paid early - a few days before Christmas. But it's not official I think - just that like most people in the company, the admin/payroll staff are on holiday between Christmas and New Year, so they get it done before they finish for the year.

I get paid every 4 weeks on a Thursday :) The only time I've ever been paid early was when the Thurs was New Years Day, and so they paid us the day before. It's so much easier - my sister gets paid really early, then spends it all and comes round borrowing food in January. This year I've started a store cupboard and added food bargains just for her.

I used to do payroll and payday was the last Friday in the month, but we paid earlier in December and also paid earlier in January to avoid 6 weeks in between paydates.

being paid on the 22nd instead of the 31st. not too impressed and will make things difficult but we shall have christmas spirit to get us through it =p

Why does having money 9 days early make things difficult for you?
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

To people who've made comments along the lines of 'you don't have to spend it early' or 'budget for it' - I get paid early in December (mid month instead of end of month), which means I get paid less that month as I'm not being paid for as long a period of time, I'm only being paid for two weeks instead of four (then I get paid for six weeks at the end of Jan). I don't spent it early and I do budget for it, but do you seriously think that if I ring up all the people I have to pay bills to and tell them that I'm being paid less this month, they'll let me off with a smaller bill just to suit me? No! It doesn't work that way. That's why being paid at a consistent date every month makes it easier for people. Nothing to do with not being careful enough with our money.

That does make a difference. It must be hard only getting half pay and iisn't something I've ever come across. However as one of the people who said you don't have to spend it early my justification is that people who get paid early are usually still getting the full month pay and only the date has changed.
