BE Value - Offer Extended

I took up the BE Unlimited offer of half price for the first year last December. First month was £6.75 but with the VAT increase it was £6.90 from January 2010. Today I got an email reminding me that my special offer discount was ending and the new monthly charge would be £13.79.
Always on a lookout for a bargain I immediately starting hunting for a better deal and eventually opted for the plusnet offer at £6.49 a month. I watch a lot of TV repeats online so was a bit worried about their 10Gb download limit plus with the £25 connection fee and £5 P&P on the "free" router it was going to work out at around £9 a month for the 12 month contract period but it was the best offer I could find without having to change my phone line.
I started filling out the application and then rang BE to get my MAC code. I was immediately offered a new deal! He suggested extending the half price offer for another six months if I agreed to stay with BE for another 12 months. He also pointed out that all their packages offer unlimited downloads (plusnet charge an additional £5 for every 5Gb or part thereof if you exceed their 10Gb limit).
As I've had no problems with BE I was happy to take them up on their new offer. Of course, if I hadn't said I was leaving I wouldn't have been offered this £41.34 saving...

Always worth asking for a MAC code to get the price down .
