With all due respect that is rubbish! Apple do not care, marketing is marketing (as in any publicity is good publicity)as far as they are concerned and they do supply tocertain unauthorised sellers, especially now. They made far too many! - see my post from HUKD below:

They were being given out to all the audience in some show (Oprah???) and not a cent paid to Apple for them, just desperate marketing as they want to get rid of as many of these as they can before they release the next con so i would expect the offers to get alot better!'

with all due respect to your rubbish comment i never said is it was a Apple marketting it is obvoisly TK Maxx marketting as when i went down there was a queue and im sure that was'nt for there 2 for 1 on socks.
Even with the launch of the ipad 2 in late spring they are still selling over 200,000 a month and sales for the ipod and iphone only dropped by 35% in the last month before the official launch so i very much doubt they have a problem untill the new Blackberry tab comes out and if rumours are true the Ipad 2 will be 1-2 weeks before that anyway this is meant to be money saving expert not rant expert:T

And that's what you would define as marketing? If it is they need to sack their marketing director, also there is no mention of iPad or Apple

I would suggest it is an announcement (funny that as its in the title) due to the amount of enquiries they are receiving

If you are looking for a discount on iPad, go to currys. There are discount codes available such as 5% off "SAVE5". I found them listed on topcashback. Although the codes say "excluding iPad" I bought one on Friday and the code still works. about £20 off the £429 model. I had a call from Currys today to run through the security check as they are processing the order, didn't query the discount. Confirmation email came through a few mins later with the discount code on the sales receipt so looks like it went through okay.

I called my local TK Maxx yesterday after seeing this thread...got told the same, they got less than 5 delivered and they were sold straightaway...but are expecting more in..but when?? hmmm I was gonna try hold off for the release of the new one next year (hopefully) but its a bargain at that price...

Plus...what extras are really gonna be on the next one? I mean I wouldn't go for the 3g because I don't want another monthly bill...I've used facetime a few times on the iphone but not a huge fan, so that's not a pull for me...and i don't see them having a sd slot, it goes against everything Apple does...so, what could the new iPad have that would make me want the newer one?

To be fair, I asked the same question last year when there were talks of a new iPhone being released...Apple are just soo good at bringing out better stuff that you don't even think of...ok, think i've talked myself out of it again...i'll hang off!haha
