However I don't quite know why some people think that others don't work on Christmas Eve, - most people do, afaik. I always did when I worked for the Council.

pmsl i remember those good ole days too, not like that now believe me!!:D
I hated the office Christmas 'gathering'.
I was always the one who volunteered to go back and man the phones.:hello::whistle:
Thinking about it why are all the offices next to a pub lol :rotfl:
I know they are not! Too many of my friends from the Revenue have said so. Most of us have retired now and those that haven't can't wait to do so!!
It's all targets etc today, where has all that fun gone?
Yes I was one of those that propped up the bar, pretending not to notice the time, hoping someone else would go back to check!! Feel guilty now!!
But they just seemed to!! Cardiff was the best - the fire escape ran into the back yard of the boozer next door!!!!0 -
Not unreasonable to sign on, but I don't want him to be own for Christmas.
I understand he may be able to sign on a day earlier, but depends if appointments are available.
Unfortunately he won't go and explain his circumstances.
He most definitely won't be able to sign a day early as he wouldn't get paid."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Why can't he just sign on and set off for home straight away? Surely even public transport runs until the end of xmas eve and if he drives he would have pretty clear rds surely?

if youre due to sign on the 31st then i presume you would be paid on or around the 6th of jan as these are normal days you will be paid normal time but they may have excused you signing onReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0
