If it were me I would hard reset the router to bring it back to the original factory settings so you wont have an issue with wep etc etc. And then slowly step by step follow the manufacturers instructions. Connect the router to the desktop pc, go through the config setttings, make sure the router is working for the pc ok (dont set the encryption at this point) and then when that is all done and hunky dory, fire up the laptop and connect through the wireless and fingers crossed all is done. Then you can go back and set your encryption .

Do remember when setting the router you really should disable the av and firewall on the pc .
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

One thing to notice...... Netgear WG111t USB 2.0 adapter has a known issue with encryption (and sometimes without) if you have a fully up to date computer. It can stop it connecting to the internet.

Unfortunately the advice given here is not really a fix... Before they got rid of thier forums there were other solutions. One was to revert back to the 1.2 driver version although you will lose your Xtended range and 108MBps connection but it will let you see if it fixes the problem then I could help you get the other drivers working.
