thats what i'm saying. if your ticket states final destination as London Gatwick, then that is your final destination. However if your final destination just state Lanzarote, then if they got you to 'Lanzarote', have they have fulfilled their contractual oblications?
Ding Ding, Round three............

Haha this is priceless. Although I can, playing devils advocate here for a moment, see your point (a bit!). The EU regulations state final destination. And you are correct in as much that when you book a flight with Monarch, it does clearly just state Lanzarote. Not Arrecife, ACE, GCRR or anything else.
Would never stand up in court though. I think when you book a flight to Lanzarote, it is reasonable to assume your destination is the airport on the island!! And it is the only airport on the island; which is why Monarch don't clarify it on the website. For example Monarch list Tenerife South, rather than just Tenerife, Paphos and Larnaca, not just Cyprus.
Made me smile for a bit though. I'd love it if they tried that as their response to any claim!0
