OK, my telephone point is in the hall and i really don't fancy cables running through the hall to the lounge to the sky box when they do the install next week.
A site has suggested these:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97658&C=6354&U=RTskyfaqDECTExtn
or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000NVSHCO/?!!!!!randt1-21
Can anyone advise if these are what i need or recommend a better/cheaper product?!
Thanks from a Sky newbie!

Run a temporary extension cable to the loungs and then remove it when the installer has departed. Unless you have Multiroom, Sky aren't that bothered, although contractually it has to be connected to the box for the first 12 months.
If you want to stay 'lega',l then you can buy out this requirement for a one-of payment of about £25.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I had issues with these when I worked for Sky.Something to do with they don't work if the sockets they are connected to are on different power rings.(or something like that, sorry,I'm no spark!)0

A hall and lounge on the same floor are almost certainly going to be on the same ring main though.
But I really wouldn't bother, there are plenty of accounts on here of Sky installers not being in the least bothered if there is no permanent phone connection to the box.No free lunch, and no free laptop

My phone socket is right next to the sky box. Installer never bothered plugging it in and neither have I. I don't have multiroom tho.0

I have Sky with Multiroom so I have to have my boxes connected to a phone line due to Sky's checks. I use the DECT Wireless Phone Extenders from your Maplin link on all of my boxes and they do the job just fine but some people have reported problems with using them with a Sky+ or Sky+HD box.
I have two of the Amstrad Sky+HD boxes and don't have any problems myself although some parts of Sky Active fail to work but I have been informed by Sky this is a known issue with the HD boxes and is under investigation.0
