Unexpectedly going to Germany this afternoon, will be there for a few days. Have an HTC Desire on T-Mobile pay monthly.
It seems from the T-Mobile site that I won't get any data - but on arrival they will text me and suggest I sign up to a "Eurobooster" for internet.
Is this correct?
Or is it that even if I don't sign up I will get data, but it will be charged at some default rate...
Thanks!

Don't think there is a euro internet booster - there is a Euro Talk & Text Booster which give you a limited number of minutes/texts.
A booster can be added at any time but it comes into affect on the billing cycle usually date.0 -

You can add one off bundles that are effective within 24 hrs.

@Chattychappy,
When you reboot up your handset in Germany and try to log on to the web now a T-Mobile home page will show asking if you wish to pay for daily use or puchase a week of web use. It will be added to your monthly bill. This not only covers surfing but also e-mails.
There is also a Euro Talk which allows you 15 minutes of calls for £5. This can be ordered by text, check out the web site.
Enjoy your trip.
Note: I have just double checked the web site and noticed an important change from when I last used the 'bolt on's, as I now use a Blackberry handset. It used to be a one off purchase for the above but now when you return home you have to cancel the bolt on's or they will continue to charge your account.
