    Hi All:santa2:
Well after yesterdays busyness have had a rather cba day today :o trouble is I've got so much to do before going to see the family tomorrow & I just don't know where to start . However DS has just informed me that his dad is on his way over to pick him up today instead of tomorrow & DD1 is staying in town again, DP & I had a big lunch so at least I don't have to cook tonight:D so will use the extra time for prezzie wrapping.
Please don't laugh (tho I would) but I seem to have been suffering from a seriously extended senior moment:o For some reason I thought that it was Christmas the weekend after going to Gosport (which I'm doing tomorrow) It's not :rotfl::rotfl:I have an extra week, which also means another payday & that the cheque that finally arrived yesterday will clear in time for any last minute shopping:j I feel such a div albeit a relieved div :) On the plus side thanks to MSE & all the lovely posters we would have been ok, it's just nice to know that we've got a cushion should we need 1.

Polly glad your dad's op went ok & wishing him a speedy recovery x
Well ex has arrivednso must go.

Hugs, spoons, hi5's & best wishes all round x

I didn't get time to post this morning, hope everyone is ok & that NPM had a fantastic day.
I left work 15 minutes early as hubby wasn't feeling well & was catching an earlier train.
    Keep safe & warm everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Evening all,

Thankfully the thaw is continuing here although we still have ridges of hardpacked snow in the middle of many of the side roads...was very slippy on the way home from collecting DGS2 at 2.30, just wish it would all go away....would like to see a few green fields instead of white ones!

We had lunch out with DD3 to-day, she is on her second day of unemployment, has applied for several jobs but reckons that there will be nothing doing in her field (mech engineering) before Jan....or maybe April. She will work at anything so is not bothered about that, am sure that she will be fine, her mortgage is a tracker so not very high and her redundancy money will clear anything else she owes and leave her a small cushion until she is set up again.

Need to finish my cards to-night, parcel stuff to go to DGDs in London and maybe make some more mince pies for freezer...oh, and get on with finishing DGS1's sweater for Christmas, seem to have lost the will to knit although I spent about €30 on even more wool in Lidl yesterday!

Hugs to all who are in need or want, stay warm

  • Did you get all hot and bothered Halight? :D

No OS here either, we too are having a takeaway as OH is off on Sunday, and I CBA'd cooking. Didn't prance about the house in my undies, but I did some more online shopping - got the boys some cool clothes for their Christmas parties, and a Scotland strip for DS1 amongst other things. I need to do stocking shopping now ( Christmas stocking Halight, stay calm ;) ) so will drag my sister out to do that next week. OH and the boys are upstairs on my bed knocking lumps out of one another. I know the script, one of them will thump OH a good one and he'll get annoyed and they'll all fall it. It happens everytime (I really need that rolleyes smiley)

Jackie I hope your brothers op was a success. Hugs for your family.xx

Bargainbird hope you are OK honey and just too busy or internet down. xx

NPM I hope your first fullday of married life was a happy one, and set the tone for those yet to come.xx

Have a good evening everyone! xxx

    Glad about your Dad.

    Taplady

    Fingers crossed for your DH.

Snow finally melted a bit so went out for a walk to nearest supermarket. Quite slippy so had to walk some of the way on the road.

Nice to get out of the house but could not face going all the way across town to the library so phoned them to renew the books so I did not have to pay a fine.

Sofabed that did not fit the spare room has now been collected and money refunded so looking online for a new one and have narrowed things down a bit.

Made home made turkey burgers inna bun for tea as dd is going out later and it is quick to eat. She finishes her temp job today and has a week to get ready for her new job on the 20th which she is really looking forward to.

Quite a few things I ordered have been held up by the weather so can't wrap up all the presents yet - need to find a time when DDs are not around. Managed to order flowers for some female relatives to be delivered middle of next week and posted Christmas cards so at least something is done.

I just started to knit myself a scarf but it's eyelash wool and difficult to make out what I am doing - must get round to getting eyes tested but can't face going out in the cold and ice .

    Hugs to all

Well I got a freezer and it is being delivered tomorrow (Local firm not Currys or Comet) No delivery fee, plus I got a free knob for my cooker that has been broken for months :D Only thing is we are £399 light now:eek: but it is big - 15 cuft so I am happy with that.
We lost a lot of veggies but I managed to save some bits and cook them up and they are in the fridge now.

Halight :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Poor you surrounded by all of us suggestive ladies ;);)

Well I am off to bed I am shattered

Morning All - Try 2, managed to hit a key and close my IB down Luckily hadn't got too far.

This morning I must write my Xmas cards for Spain and get them posted (last minute Harry here)

Hoping everything went swimmingly for the NPM's

It just has to thaw enough to let us get the caravan out and down for service let DS & GF get here on the 23rd, and then let us get off to Spain in the NY then it can do what it likes here for a couple of month, sorry folks., but Spain does sleep 8, and at a push with airbeds more

Oh by the way had an email from Evans this morning saying 20% off everything by using that 9 letter word we are not allowed to use on here about what happens on the 25th December, might by worth a try, as it says invitation only.

(((hugs))) to the poorlies, fed up, etc., Hoping everyone feels a little better soon.
    Take care - DG
