I booked a flight for my mom to come from overseas to visit me on July, she is very much fixed on the dates and she wanted to get the best out of it.

The only problem is that I put her details properly in the system but in her passport she has a middle name and I didn't include this middle name in the booking.

I am not sure if she will be allowed to travel without the middle name printed on her boarding pass, and since she takes a roundtrip with easyjet they charge £75 to change the name in both flights (inbound and outbound)!

I checked their terms and I can cancel the ticket (for a £30 fee) if it's within 24 hours of purchase so I must wait for tomorrow morning to speak to them, but before I do - I wanted to ask you, do I really need to change the name or I can leave things as they are and my mom would be allowed to travel with the booking as it is?

If not I think I'd rather just cancel and get a refund and probably pay about extra £100 to another company but at least have the piece of mind she's traveling with a normal airline, not with an airline charging £75 for a name change! Anyways any suggestions or ideas from you guys??

as long as the first & last name are identical to the passport you will be fine :) obviously if a middle name is provided it must match the passport, but not having a middle name included won't be a problem :)

    Are you sure about that??
Even not with crazy easyjet that would try to take from you every single penny from your pocket???
  • I have used Easy Jet several times and I have never given them the middle name that is in my passport. Never been a problem. David
  • I have travelled with Easyjet with no middle name on the booking but I have a middle name on my passport and have never had a problem. Technically the name is not different - just an extra bit in the passport! The problem only comes when the first or last name is different.

off the top off my head, the only time i think EZY need a middle name is if API has to be entered into the booking, depending on the destination. However, as mentioned above, provising first name and surname on passport match first name and surname on the booking, you will be fine.

Please check https://www.easyjet.com HXDave and then clarify what you're on about, and perhaps edit your post to avoid confusion on this site.

    Thank you guys!

I've also called easyJet free of charge (I had a 15 minute call so I saved like £1.50 :D) - and they changed and inserted the middle name FREE OF CHARGE!!

    I'm shocked
Easyjet doing things FREE OF CHARGE, can you guys believe it???
