Limit extra charges on contract phone
My kids are currently on £15 a month contracts with 3 and the contracts are limited so that once they have used up their 'free' minutes and texts, they cannot run up extras until their next monthly allowance takes effect.
Are there other providers that do this?
I don't want to use PAYG because they are poor value compared to using the full allowance on a contract.

Three specifically state that whilst they offer the service if they go over your limit you will be liable for the cost, and it should not be used for budgeting reasons.0 -
Personally, I wouldn't rely on one of these tariffs as the limit is not hard. Its possible to go over it.
There isn't much difference in value between contract and pay and go nowadays.
£15 could get you 300 minutes and unlimited texts (or even better) with the re-assurance that there is no way of unexpectedly running up a bill.0 -

Exactly, the main reason being not all services are billed in real time. As above, the value of PAYG has increased greatly over the past year, so unless you trust the network systems to flag excess use and trust your kids implicitly, my advice would be to use PAYG.0 -
The £150 bill my darling ran up without a care in the world on a "childrens" contract convinced me that it probably wasn't a good idea LOL
She's on PAYG now until she turns 18 LOL"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0
