He says he's sick of keeping a smile on his face when I get him things he doesn't like or want.
I'd be gutted if my other half said that to me! Make him do all the xmas work..wrapping everyone else's pressies, cooking the dinner and so on as a punishment. Miserable devil! From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -
I wouldn't get him anything, saying that, since we've had the boys we spend about £20 on each other so we have something to open and then hit the sales, as opposed to buying for the sake of buying.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

My friends mum got the right idea.... not saying you should go this far obviously but it made me smile... She got him a divorce! :rotfl: Actually I think he didn't believe her till she handed him the key to the front door, hoiked up her suitcases and walked out the door... I think he still thinks she'll "come to her senses" when infact that is infact EXACTLY what she's done

give him a cut-off date of say , 19th December, tell him if he's not asked for something by then, then you won't buy him anything.
Remind him you like to give him something that you think will bring him pleasure at Christmas, and it is hurtful to hear you're wasting time and energy on him...
If he doesn't tell you what he wants, then go out and buy something you've covered for a while, and give it to yourself as a present - if you can't get pleasure by giving him something, then do the next best thing and buy it for yourself.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Stick to consumable items, preferably food stuffs (or alcohol, if he drinks and you're willing to enable the consumption). It will all get used so it's not a wasted gift and, if he turns his nose up, you can always eat/drink the stuff yourself. So you feel it's a proper gift, go for premium/luxury brands e.g. Duchy Originals biscuits and Charbonnel et Walker truffles.0

Gosh, not a lot of Christmas spirit in a lot of replies!
Print him off an Amazon gift voucher, give him that and a hug and a kiss, and let him browse for his own choice of present in his own time. Christmas, especially, is a time for forgiveness, kindness, and caring, surely? If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
I'd get him a lump of cole miserable grinch. Or nothing! Simples!
