I have had problems with my stove since it was installed during the summer. The installer has come back and rectified some parts, but I still get an slight odour in the room.
I have 2 carbon monoxide detectors and they show nothing.
I couldnt really say what the smell was, until I walekd behind a landrover at lunchtime .... and the fumes coming out of its exhaust reminded me EXACTLY of what i smell in my room.
As said, I have 2 CO detectors ... surely they both can't be working ??? Maybe it isn't CO ?
Are there any other detectors on the market to investiage what the fumes are ???

CO is odourless and tasteless, trust me I was once gassed in the steelworks. What fuel are you burning? Is the stove up to temperature and been run in? May help someone to give you some indication as to what the smell could be.If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0

            hi W50nky
I am burning seasoned wood, some of which has been in the airing cupboad for a few months and is showing a mositure content of ony 1% I have also tried smokeless fuel as well.
Its an inset fire, so i can only get the stove thermometer on the door, not the flu pipe, so i was told by stovax that it would give me an under reading ... but at ;east give an indication of the temp. Its running at around 350 degress centrigrade ... which the thermometer says is bang in the middle of the best operating temperature.
I agree, i'd like someone to help with the smell ... I am toying with the idea of getting friends around for dinner, but don't want to gas them !!
