Vodafone Upgrade Query

Hi all.

Apologies if this repeats anything that has been on here before but I am just after a little advice.

I am due an upgrade with vodafone from 20th December this month (my contract ends in February)

My price plan is the household discount with 900 mins and unlimited texts with mobile internet.

At the moment I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and in an ideal world I love the blackberry torch-I really doubt that I'll be able to get this so my question was..if I get a general upgrade now will I be able to wangle anything else with them come February or shall I just try and sort it all out now..I know that there are ways and means of getting what you want from mobile providers but I have no idea how to go about it!

Many thanks

Rengox

hope you have better luck with Voda retentions that I have had. They wouldn't offer me anything but just referred me to the upgrade section of my account on their website. One of the 'upgrades' offered was worse than the deal I am on! So I emailed them and an Indian call centre reply came back saying no-one from retentions can call you, you could try us instead (I can never get through and when last I did, I got fobbed off).
Then as a result of my request for a better deal, they just texted me my PAC code and a pro-forma 'sorry you are leaving us' rubbish.
If you want a high end smartphone on a 24 month contract, you may get to speak to one of their high and mighty retentions team, but they seem to have a 'don't negotiate with the peasants' attitude.
I quoted other peoples' deals that I'd seen on here and they were completely uninterested. (I've been with them over 2 years too on £20 pm).
