Tesco sim only

Am I reading this correctly?

Tesco sim only

1 month contract
500 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited data

All for £10 a month?

If this is correct would I be ok to use it with a HTC Firebird or what ever its called?

Thanks

    yes you are.

The internet has a fair usage policy of 500mb.
I have my son on this deal at the moment and have had no problems with tesco mobile.

Hi, I have just got one for my son, it seems like a great deal. I am not very computer savvy so not sure how much 500mb would mean, he just tends to listen to music on you tube and use his facebook account. Can you put a lock on to stop children going over 500mb and 500 mins.
    Sorry for all the questions!!

No lock I know of, but beware

Do not exceed your 500Mb data whatever you do. No downloading videos etc. It's £4 per Mb, so using twice as much as your 500Mb could cost £2000 per month.

I wouldn't use YouTube too often as the videos often use quite a lot of data. I use about 250mb/pm from watching 1 video and maybe uploading 1 and checking Facebook and Twitter about 5135215 times a day :rotfl:
    Target Save £1k :o
    So far £625/£1000 :j

is the unlimited (500mb) web/data only for 3 months though? as per this info page on tesco, the number of minutes is different on that page though, it's a bit confusing?! wonder if that's out of date info?

edit: answering my own question, looks like this £10 with 500 mins & unlimited web is an ongoing special offer as the one with 3 month unlimited web is also there to buy

as these are only 30 day contracts, i presume they can get pulled at any time? what happens then - just choose another tariff or move somewhere else? i suppose that's the risk with a 30 day contract...tempt you in with great value, but it can disappear just as quickly

On my account it has a high usage limit of £30 so you should not be able to run up a massive bill.
It can take a few hours for any usage to appear in your account so i suppose you can go over the high usage limit but it should stop a huge bill.

The deal is 500 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet but with a fair usage policy of 500mb. You will stay on this deal untill you decide to change.
I am on the old £6 a month deal which they no longer do and my service and costs have just stopped the same.
Not sure how long they will keep the offer open for.

offer is until end December. I am going on to it as Vodafone refused to match the offer someone else on this forum was given and I've been with Voda for 2 1/2 years. You get precisely nothing in the UK for customer loyalty.

Tell me please - if you are getting near your 500mb data limit, do Tesco text you?
Also - is the £30 charge cap automatic and does it apply to all these SIM only contracts? If you're roaming, can you ask to have it increased?
Lastly - what's the prefix for text reports as I know you don't get them and I hate that. Is the best to save it as a template and use it every time you text and does the text recipient actually see the strange prefix or just the writing in the text? Does it work for MMS too?

sorry to mini hijack but didn't want to start yet another Tesco thread on this offer
