Options
:(i have a maintanence contract with british gas my 2 year old boiler froze solid last night and they have closed all the call centres so when you ring all you get is an information list telling you to refer to british gas web site which in my case doesnt help with my new boiler i think it s terrible just closing all the centre"s i bet no one gets a refund i have also noticed they are still pulling a scam that been going on for years you should get a yearly service with my contract my aniversary date is november because the dont do it till feb march one year then a bit later the next you end up loosing out because you only get a service every 2 years i wonder how many people are getting scammed with that

Has the boiler itself frozen or is it your condensate pipe. If the latter you may be able to fix the problem yourself.

I can understand your frustration, I doubt they would've taken the decision to close the call center lightly as it means they will get hammered when they do re-open. I'm sure you can imagine the headlines if say some BG employees died on the way to work...

If you are not happy with the service I am sure there are many other companies offering boiler care.

  • Contact BG and tell them that youve been approached by the AA and they are offering you the same service as you have but at considerably less/mth.....They will better the AA price...Afriend was paying £19.99/mth...AA offered the same for£12.99...BG reduced their price to £12.29/mth

They never close the phone lines although for a couple of hours last night the phone network the office works on went down. First time I can remember that happening in the last decade.
  • They are operating a limited service due to adverse weather conditions. Some area service centres are closed because it is dangerous to travel to work. Try and book your service on a yearly basis mark it in the calendar that way you'll never miss it.

All Companies will be suffering with the adverse weather.

I for one could not get to work today and I work for BG.
