'Call' just showing instead of 'withheld'

I have a Nokia 6300

when someone calls it shows their number/name

when someone withholds their number it says 'withheld number calling'

yesterday it just showed the word 'call' with no number or mention of withheld - is this the same as withheld or something else?

(Assuming you haven't turned off caller id) It means either that there is no caller identity being sent (no number), rather than it being withheld.

Alternatively, you may have the number stored under two contacts (eg SIM and phone) so the handset doesn't know which name to display.

No, it's usually be an international call or other calling systems here the numbers was already withheld ie some companies do that.

I found this problem on phones for a company I used to work for. It has a system called feature net which doesn't send a call id. Apparently it is not withholding the No just not set up to send it.

My home phone is set up to refuse calls from witheld Nos ( interesting when large companies phone you back) but these calls got through.

When a friend in NZ calls using her skype it just says 'call'.
