  • I think 'scam' is probably overstating it.

Last Friday I was in Lincoln's Asda and saw they had Daz 50 wash box on offer for £6 I thought wow that's good especially if I use my £3 off voucher from the asda voucher booklet, but I didn't have it with me.

I went back today to find it had gone up to £8.98 and even with my voucher was no longer such a great bargain.

I cant help thinking that they purposely put the price up to coincide with their vouchers and to be honest I'm rather annoyed, it makes me wonder if everything in their voucher books has had the price put up from what it would be normally and its all just a big scam to make you think you are getting a great deal!

For somebody who hadn't seen it was £6 originally they would think that £3 off £8.98 was a great deal and not realise they were being scammed.

So what about all the people who had their vouchers with them on friday? they got it at £3 were they also "scammed"?
  • If they got it for £3 then no they were not scammed but Im talking about all the people that don't know the original price and that the price has been put up.

I just dont think its fair that people think they are getting a bargain when they are clearly not, asda obviously put the price up to coincide with their booklet.

Its only my opinion that its unfair and that is why new regulations are coming into place to stop this exact type of thing.

So what you are saying is that everything in the voucher book has had it's priced hiked up by the voucher amount, so when you use the voucher you are getting it for what it normally costs anyway.

An annoyance a bit like electrical retailers, putting their prices up £100 from November to December, then lowering it back to what it cost from January to October and saying it's on sale and you save £100.

Which part is the regulation covering?
    -A company changing a price?
-A company issuing a voucher which gives you a discount on a product?

Just been looking at the £20 off a DSi they were £115 last week and still £115 this week..
  • Exactly, and it is wrong hence new regulations are coming into place to stop it I just feel we are all being conned.
I dont normally post only read but I thought maybe some people would like to know :/
  • ASDA are good at this sort of thing.

They often advertise something on TV at discounted rates but when you go in store they never have the product as its "sold out".
You can't beat an egg.........................NO WAIT!

Well I certainly hope they do particularly on the sale price issue.

Recently there was a good example. A post on the forums about a laptop being put up in November by £120 IIRC. Lo and behold in December it came down £120 and Currys IIRC were advertising it as £120 off.
  • Still £3 cheaper then it should be, ASDA don't have to do this voucher offer you know, can't really believe you're complaining that you STILL want more off the product.
I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.

Its not £3 cheaper the original price was £6 then it was put up to £8.98 to coincide with the £3 money off voucher, id rather have the original price than the voucher booklet.

So no I dont want more money off it, I want the original price of £6
