Just had doorstep caller!!!!!

thats what I thought no way she was genuine - Later BT rang and asked for me by name I said yes and the guy in the back ground said something to his collegue and didnt her me asking what they wanted and hung up

Now wondering if that was a fake call to try and get details

Contact your Neighbourhood watch - they CAN do something about banning doorstep callers in certain areas though I dont know the criteria
Alternatively they have stickers you can put on your door saying you dont want doorstep callers - I have one and it does work against genuine callers - a scammer wouldnt take any notice I am sure but that might be enough to give you a heads up

Not sure, but..I believe Parish Councils can establish local bye-laws forbidding doorstep calling [hawkers, etc]...

One or two villages nearby actually have signs up at the boundaries, warning that doorstep calling is verboten.
