    d. Your one pearl of wisdom. Never think that just becos you have a huge income that you are safe from debt. We had a massive income, which suddenly stopped, we were in denial for too long and were too greedy for things we didnt need. Never underestimate yourself and get your head into the right zone and beat the debt - good luck :)
    e. And if you had a debt diary on DFW, a link to it https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1563577 my diary which saved me and gave me an outlet to express how i felt.

Congratulations:j and well done. i have followed your diary on and off for a while. You are truely an inspiration to get rid of that much debt in that time, wow!

I must confess I have fallen off of the ebay wagon lol a few times and have given up, but after reading your diary I am going to try again!!! and make sure I dont give up.

I hope you are enjoying your new life abroad, glad things have worked out for you.

Today is my debt free day - an unexpected one at that. I've linked to my own post here below cos I've just had my happy dance there :j:j. I never thought I'd see this day and I can't describe how glad I am about it. A huge well done to all on here before me and hugs and good vibes to those still slogging but who will arrive here after me!

Date of Lightbulb moment - flickered on and off for the last 2 years but came on full and stayed on in Jan 2009

Debts at the highest - just short of £10,000

    Debt free day - today! 3rd May 2011 :j

Pearl of wisdom - I'll cheat and have 3. Leave your credit cards at home when you go out. It's hard at first but becomes a habit. Take part in the challenges on here. I found NSD challenge best for me. Finally, downshift brands on everything. It's really amazing the difference that makes!

I'm already there :D - with 1 NSD so far from a target of 15! Didn't have one today as planned because I was distraught with total excitement (if one can be such a thing).

It will be a NSD tomorrow though and I believe Thursday as well - hee hee hee - I'll be back. And I'll keep it up too because it made all the difference.

Such a crazy bunch on that thread and there's always the chance to see someone get slapped with a wet paintbrush:eek:

    Debt-free and Proud!
We are debt free as of last night, I can hardly believe it!!!

    a. The date of your lightbulb moment- 23rd July 2009
    b. Debts at their highest-€24.9
    c. Debt-Free Date 19/05/2011
    d. Your one pearl of wisdom.- Set up a clear monthly, weekly budget. As soon as money comes in, dispatch it out to the various budget centers. If you know how much you have to spend, you are less likely to go over it. A good spreadsheet is invalueable too. Oh and get your OH (if there is one) onside. So important that you both commit to the debt free path!

Thank you everyone! Stick with it, it's an amazing feeling to be debt free. Better than any purchase xx
