    (b) Debts at this time - about £16K

    (c) Debt free date - TODAY!!

    (d) Pearls of wisdom? Don't ignore the situation - get right on top of it. Budget properly - know all your income and outgoings. I found cash is king - I withdrew the cash on a Monday to see me through the week - when it's gone - it's gone. (It became a challenge to see how much I could have left over). Ask for help on these forums, browse them and use the suggestions.

Thank you so much to Martin Lewis and the MSE community.

So glad to have found you.

Pearl of wisdom: use this site for support, advice and a listening ear - whatever else is going on there always someone here that's been willing to listen and help me or simply just to sympathise, and for that I am so, so grateful. Also never give up, this day has been a long time coming, but it did happen and it will for everyone else just starting out on their journey too. X

pearl or wisdom, look around at the different debt management companys, worst thing we did was start with baines and ernst before switching to payplan . we had our head in the sand for far too long, listen to the good advice on here and no question is a silly question.

i will never have a credit card or loan again, this is what got me in trouble :) if i dont have the money i simply dont buy it
