(d) Pearls of wisdom? Don't ignore the situation - get right on top of it. Budget properly - know all your income and outgoings. I found cash is king - I withdrew the cash on a Monday to see me through the week - when it's gone - it's gone. (It became a challenge to see how much I could have left over). Ask for help on these forums, browse them and use the suggestions.

Pearl of wisdom: Keep your paperwork in order, don't be afraid to write and write again to debt companies, phone the Financial Ombudsman and use this site every day!
Debts as I can remember them:
Bank of Scotland loan: £2,500
Countrywide loan: £2,000
Overdraft with Lloyds TSB: £3,000 and blacklisted.
Overdraft and loan with HSBC: £16,500 and blacklisted.
Unpaid council tax: £800
Unpaid car insurance: £70
Unpaid electricity bills: £800
Unpaid house insurance: £70
Milkman (!): £70
Unpaid mortgage: £750
Legal Aid fees: £8,0000 -

pearl or wisdom, look around at the different debt management companys, worst thing we did was start with baines and ernst before switching to payplan . we had our head in the sand for far too long, listen to the good advice on here and no question is a silly question.
i will never have a credit card or loan again, this is what got me in troubleif i dont have the money i simply dont buy it
