My 12 yo daughter asked for a touchscreen mobile for Xmas, and I know little about them.
Which is the best value one?
She's already on O2 PAYG.
Thanks

There's loads of them about. I've got a Nokia N8 which i love, but it depends on what she's going to be using it for mainly, and what your budget is.0

You won't go far wrong with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 IMO.
Only available from O2 at the moment, and £130 brand new in the box.
If you do go for one then the chances are that it still has Android 1.6 as it's operating system, although the 2.1 upgrade has just been released and the upgrade process is very easy.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
Orange san francisco. Was £79.99 last week on e2save, but still available for under £100 in orange shops and online. Best phone for under £120 imo. Free and simple to unlock too. Has android 2.1 and 2.2 is being ported too.

£85 + £10.00 topup.
You also get some free goodies with it too.0 -

Got one for myself a week ago - had to go out and buy another the next day for the wife - we both use it on '3'
Fantatsic handset - great touchscreen, very clear to read, access to marketplace etc0 -
Pretty much all new handsets now feature touchscreens in some form. You will not go wrong sticking with what is getting good reviews, especially as this is for your 12year old.
The lower priced touchscreen handsets will almost certainly utilise a plastic touchscreen which can become easily scratched and lose its functionality inside 12 months if not looked after.
For a smoother and altogether easier to use touchscreen you're going to be looking at the glass fronted touchscreens, the daddy being the Iphone...... but it isn't cheap! Perhaps look to get a first generation 3G Iphone, these should be cheaper as we are now on the Iphone4!
Also, have a look at the LG Chocolate handsets, they're pretty sleek too.0 -
Another vote for the Orange San Fransisco, think it's a glass screen, but screen protectors (£5 for 5) for the Samsung i900 fit perfectly0

It turns out now her twin brother would like a touchscreen mobile too, so I will need to buy a pair. Iphones would be out of my budget. I was hoping for under £100.0
