I dont actually think you can do anymore than you are already doing, apart from seeing if any family/friends can help out with babysitting and you could maybe get a part time job - or get a part time job while your partner can watch your kid :)

You know what, stupidly enough i didn't even think of looking for a P.T job around my partners hours!
I will have a look in the local shops that are open late and hiring...possibly bar/resturant work depending on hours..i don't want to be rolling in at 3am exhausted and being a rubbish mother the next day due to exhaustion! :)

[/LIST]Electricity is only cheaper at night if you have a two-rate electricity meter (often called an Economy 7 meter) which registers different usage at night and if you are on a two-rate tariff.

If your electricity bill only shows a single tariff rate then all your electricity is charged the same, no matter when you use it.

Ahh, we have a single tariff i think. Oh well, at least i tried! Thank you for the info :D

Oh for goodness sake. I asked for advice not judgement.

hey, don't confuse me with someone who gives a damn. But don't kid yourself about what you're doing and if your partner thinks it's ok to let the mother of his child make money sending sex messages to strange men. .well, good luck to you both.

Big diff from selling your body and sending a text.

I would not advise to do it though. Not worth your pride. Specially not for a deposit for a overpriced box you are chasing after.

Thanks, luck is a generous thing to offer :-)

In all honesty, i most likely won't. I don't think i have the attitude for it...
I'd love a deposit on an overpriced box :), it'd be MY overpriced box instead of paying for someone elses hahaha.

I dislike renting, it feels so unsecure, i know that having a mortgage could possibly be more risky if there were any job losses in the household etc, but i'm fed up of paying for a house that isn't mine, that could be taken off the rental market with only 2 months notice and unable to make any changes to regarding insulation and upgrading of windows/boilers etc as when we move, the money spent would be lost.

Renting is obviously just paying for accommodation. See it as that. If you see it as lost investment then it will annoy you.

I would only bother if you have a large deposit and the price is fair. Which is rare. Along with a reasonable interest rate. Plus you have legal fees, surveyor etc. to contend with.

Seeing as you have a child I can understand why. Being single and renting has a different outlook.

Going by your story, nothing more you can do except grab every money making opportunity, within reason. ;)

I really should switch my laptop off..i will start doing it, i just hate loading the damned thing up the next morning.

    Look up hibernate and suspend

I use hibernate, same saving and much quick gettiing back to where you were because you can leave the windows where they were.

If your network is setup correctly you can even change locations without problems with many apps.

It's £528 a year, but i've been looking at it in terms of, it's £5per week each...when i look at it spread over a year, that is more than half a grand!

Normalise every catagory to the annual cost, most people cant compare weekly monthly yearly in their heads.

Now what else costs £5 per week that you could do without.

I will try to change my perspective, it hopefully won't be as bad when we move into my mother's house in Jan, at least i know the money will be going to her, rather than some random stranger, and we'll be renting a house that is worth triple what she's going to charge.
I definatly will find a house at a fair price, i will probably go to a house auction once we've got the OK for a mortgage etc...and drag my dad along (he is a builder) to assess the property for me and how much work would need doing. But that's all in the future (i get ahead of myself)
Thank you for replying to my post and the advice you've given!
