Problems with Virgin Mobile

I'm on a 24 month blackberry contract with them (don't know what i was thinking) and they keep messing up with my internet and overcharging. Although my bolt on is added (1GB) and i only use around 25MB a month, i am being charged 30p a day for using the internet. It happened a few months ago where i got charged £9 for the month as they charged me for every day. It was a nightmare getting that money refunded and nobody could understand what i was trying to say, i had to go instore and get them to call as the best i got from the CS centre was "30p a day is good value, and the cheapest around." Yes that may be true but not whilst i'm paying for it within my contract! I've just recently looked over some other bills now and have noticed a couple of random internet usage 30p charges cropping up. It has made me angry because i never noticed these before and have just been paying for my bill without even questionning it. I know its not a lot of money but its the principal for me. How much are they getting extra if they are charging these small amounts, but to a massive scale of people!

Basically i just wanted to know my rights on the matter.. are they in breach of contract so i could cancel? I'm 12 months into the contract. If i can't cancel i'm not too bothered, im just getting fed up of being overcharged.

Thanks for any input,
Luke

The Blackberry service only covers data through the Blackberry servers.
I suspect you have an application that is using data through Virgin's servers, which is why you are being charged for it.
You can either stop using whatever is not connecting through the Blackberry APN or consider a provider which includes a regular data allowance with the Blackberry service.
  • My deal was 1GB of internet and unlimited blackberry services.. I rarely use the internet on my phone and if i do i connect via the blackberry server.. The last time this happened they said i was charged wrong, so i was wondering what i could do with regards to complaining or cancelling?

No they are not in breach of contract .

First step is to find the tariff for your package then check internet charges .

Then phone up CS in the UK and complain that fails send a proper letter not email to head office .
