    Great basic phone.
It's a Nokia so it should be easy to unlock.
I went through Quidco too and have £5 tracking (so £14.99!) - do I need to register the sim to qualify for the Quidco cashback?

I would guess so, you may want to stop the auto credit too.

    EDIT:

Think I have that wrong, different company.

Also instore but you have to buy a £10 credit voucher as well - no probs if you already have an orange phone.

If you unlock you may want to keep the sim for Orange Wednesdays . . .

Naaa... have had a few payg from here with quidco and never register sim but always get the cashback... thats my experience anyway... good deal at £15
  • If you want to unlock, just use my instructions below..it worked for me.

    Download Nokiafree Unlock from http://unlock.nokiafree.org/NokiaFREE_v310_Nokia_unlock_codes_calculator.zip

To obtain the IMEI number, remove the sim, and type *#06#

Use the application as demo-ed here:
    http://www.adsar.co.uk/2652.htm

Type in the last code (+7) from the results for your unlock code. Just type this in when the phone has no sim card in it, and you should see something like "Phone unrestricted".

Please note that these phones are not new, although the one I received looked perfect.

From the Phones4U website clearance page,

"Clearance handsets have been returned by Customers under the Phones4u 14-day money back guarantee. Clearance handsets have been rigorously tested, fully re-conditioned by our engineers and re-packaged as new. All our clearance handsets are supplied with a 12-month warranty direct from Phones4u. "

    I just received mine too.

I think these phones are brand new because it was listed in the ordinary Orange PAYG section as well as the clearance section and wasn't labelled as "Clearance". The box has been opened, however, to put the sim card into the phone.
