  • Hi again just looking for more help ;)

I am having trouble saving my worksheets, it keeps saying the data is too much and I should close applications and then freezes.
I only have excel open-nothing else.

I only have about 6 worksheets although they are inter linked, so can't understand why it thinks it is too much data.

It takes ages to go through the save motion, but it doesn't save and loses all the work I have done.

The page keeps freezing saying not responding and will not allow me to save on a usb.

    I am using office 2010.

    Thanks in advance again:A

try setting it to manual calculation, making sure to UNTICK the "recalculate before saving" option..

    Thanks for replying.

Can you please do a step by step guide to your suggestion as I am not sure how I am supposed to do it or which icons to press.

    Thanks in advance.

Go to the Tool menu and select Options. Then click on the Calculation tab. Then select Manual.

  • Hi
It still keeps saying "Excel cannot complete this task (copying and linking pages) with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications. Continue without undo?"

Any help what I should do to resolve this would be great.

  • i used to get this error with office XP, but it was pulling data directly from a database and then sorting through it getting the data required. but occasionally it would throw up an error that there was more data than the spreadsheet could handle (say for example someone pulls a whole works part list instead of a specific part code... this was in excess of 100,000 lines of data so no surprise excel would have a barney) so what exactly are you doing to the spreadsheets before you save? how much data are you dealing with?
  • It is not alot of data at all. I think where I have been going wrong is I have been highlghting whole columns and copying, pasting and then linking, I am going to just highlight just the data and a few rows below and then copying. I will let you know if this now works.

  • Yaaay its working:j

I was copying the whole column and linking. I should have just copied the area required.

Thanks for all the support over the past couple of days.
