AOL Speed issue

While I am in the mood for moaning about AOL -
I am having trouble since November running video streams (youtube etc.) in peak periods. The speed is dropping badly sometimes down to 300kbps.
Complained to AOL and got as far as them wanting me to ring up on their costly 0844 number - then I came to a halt.
Are any of you experiencing the same problem?
Even if you do not run video stream, please check your speed in the evenings and see if you are being slowed up.

Its called being fair to all users intensive use as per Video Streaming is getting less bandwidth in peak times . Why video supplier/end users not paying extra for its higher bandwidth usage .
Traffic management /shaping multilevel internet etc is becoming the norm . Loads of recent articles on reasons why . Streaming Video for one has now overtaken PtP transfers and takes up something like 35% of the total bandwidth .
The answer will be that somebody is going to have to pay more in the future .
