    Hey
I applied for a number of student bursaries some months ago and received one for my remaining time at uni at £1010.
Also received £500 Christmas money so that's going in too.

Ebay items going up on Thursday which should fetch a few hundred and maybe some gumtree ads too.

    £1510 so far...
    Wins:
July 2013: 1.Men's bespoke bracelet 2. Signed Primal Scream album

I have really enjoyed reading this thread today & you are all very inspirational. I would love to raise more money but am a novice to e-bay, amazon, every thing really!

Could someone help me please? I have just tried to join Amazon with the intention of selling some books & it is saying you have to pay £28.75 per month to do so? Is this correct for normal private selers? I only have a dozen or so books to sell!

    Many thanks for any replies!

Hi. I used to teach primary school. Why BTW?
Amazon should let you list for free then take a certain amount for postage per sale. No initital cost, only if you sell! HTH x

You can have a free account with Amazon, the paid account is if you sell a lot of books every month, I think it changes the amount that Amazon takes but you have to sell over 50ish to make it worth your while (last time I looked!)

When I opened mine (it was a few years ago) it gave me the option of either account, but it could have changed since!
    Sell £1000 in 2016 - £12.48/£1000
    Earn £2016 in 2016 - £0.00/£1000

  • Yes thanks jak & deq123 - that's what I thought although I still can't understand it as I clicking on the private - just sell a few things option & it still states this silly amount per month to pay! Mind you, I am a bit tired at the moment so will have another look tomorrow!
