elly, it's scary to put a date on it, but by then my dd will be driving by then and nearly 18:eek::eek: and we live in the sticks so she will have to be added to my insurance and also my car will be 15 years old so I have to trade it in that year or the year after. We can't do things like that unless this debt is gone. We have been on a DMP for 8 years now - half of DD life!! and I can't bear having it still at the back of my mind anymore. So June 2013 is the month that we pay off just over £20,000. An enormous amount of money especially as I work part-time, with no hope of any over-time, but it's near to home and for that I am grateful. I will add up everything and then put the figure as my signature to remind me. I am sorting out tons of paperwork today, and sorting through house stuff to ebay....busy busy xx

that shows both great determination and responsibility a lot of others would just not have paid it back :D
i like the idea of the padders that i found on here that set up dd to their cc and every day just pay a bit extra ,but as we are paid monthly the snowball calculator works for us better ,i contacted the nurse bank re extra shifts but have got to update my moving and handling and fire safety first ,and there is no course until dec
so thinking about applying to nhs 24 so confused but for now will continue to ebay we have enough junk ds room cleared out today it will be dd room next well off to make lunch and trying hard i'm very impressed:j
So finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x

  • Elly – I’m definitely planning for the future, yes it is scary but it feels good actually having something solid to look at.

I have really cut my food bill down, I have been doing a lot of batch cooking and buying things on special offer and freezing them. I have quite a lot of clothes that I need to get rid of, so I might sell these on ebay. There isn’t much else that I want to sell on ebay other than a sewing machine.

Lilac -The good thing is that I have been doing more freelance graphic design work, and I have had quite a few enquiries for design work which is ace. I have designed a proper design portfolio with all my work now which is good.

And then I hope to have two online shops ready by the end of this month.

Trying hard – well done on paying it back £20,000 is excellent - I am determined to payback every penny. I don’t want to go down the bankruptcy route.

Like I said the good thing is that I have picked up some freelance work on top of the day job, and like you I have gone through all my paperwork. One thing I have done is made Sunday money day – I like to go over my finances, see what I have spent and make sure that I am on budget.

I have been using Microsoft money and it is fantastic. It helps me out a lot. Still a long way to go, but I really feel that the next few months will be good ones!

    hi all
joined at the begining but lost track soon after
glad to see you are all doing soooo well congratulations, keep up the good work

i might try and join you again next year but still in the meantime trying to tidy up my house, this is the main reason for me losing focus so am concentrating here for the time being, I do look in frequently and am amazed at what you are all achieving.

  • I made £30 on ebay this week but missed my normal eBay slot so didn't get any new stuff on for next week :( I don't think I'll be able to make any extra payments to my loan this month (which is how I track what I earn extra) because I need to get a new cam belt *Poo*
