Offer arrived via E mail citing Daily Mail Promotions, also mentioned NoW and Sun. DVD Player offered and bought on 29/01/11, payment through RBS WorldPay. No goods now well overdue. Phone number not answered, e mail no reply. Daily Mail said address nothing to do with them, nor was promotion. Contacted C/C company, who will pursue it even though less than £100, and will take cash back from RBSWorldPay. I note these offers continue and are supposedly linked to Captain Cash. Copies of ad's provided for C/C company to send in with my claim form. Daily Mail said this might be just a phone number and an e mail (will reply within 2 days- still waiting), which will not be manned ('phone rang for ages unanswered) and recommended that I contact C/C company and report the facts for their action. This Martin Lewis website rules seem to suggest that I cannot use the wording which Daily Mail did, so I am not doing so. This whole affair is most aunacceptable. Daily Mail not amused at the unauthorised use of the header which suggested that it was one of its promotions.0

Have checked my old emails and the offer deffo came through as a Daily Mail offer. I have entered comps in Mail so I assumed that was why I got the offers. The DVD I ordered was described as a House M.D. Season 6 Offer - Home Entertainment System (£15 plus £2.99 p&p). The worldpay confirmation said please allow 35 days from the closing date of promotion for delivery. Maybe it will still arrive.
I just hope that everyone's goods will arrive and this is above board. I saw that they had an ebay page as well which kind of made me think it was all okay. Not sure why I thought that. I imagined it was just a way for the papers to get rid of the extras they have when they run these promos in the paper.
[Update to post] Clicked through original email to their website and it says the House DVD I ordered expected delivery date is 31 March. I'll post here if the DVD player does arrive and watch this thread for other people's experiences.Offer arrived via E mail citing Daily Mail Promotions, also mentioned NoW and Sun. Hi Stanman. Was it a Touchscreen MP3/MP4 Player? I have now seen that their website has a delivery updates page (edit - just seen Tali's post no. 28 above which gives the link to the page) and it says that item is expected 28 March. I hope it's what your waiting for and it does arrive for your presents.Wins include: Cushelle Koala Bear; signed Terry Pratchett book; tickets to Noisettes; Glenlivet Whisky; tickets to Henry Moore exhibition, Beyonce, ABBA world plus Red Letter Days Aston Martin driving experience. Hi guys
I ordered a pc tablet on November 8th from these clowns and they took the money straight away.
Allow 40 days for delivery said the advert. Well 44 days on and still no tablet.
All the spin that is coming out of NOTW and Mp is that the tablets have been in Royal Mail mechanics since December 15th.
Funny that, as I had a parcel delivered from Kent two days ago by Royal Mail that was posted on the 17th.
Communication with both mediapromos and News Of The World has ground to a halt.
Media promos have a full message box.
Very poor customer relations from both NOTW and mediaspromos which is emabarrasing to say the least.
Happy Christmas NOTW and mediapromos. How many children have had their Christmas spoiled by you guys?
Will the owner of this site investigate?
Probably not as he is on the payroll at NOTW
I also still have problems with media promo, ordered a PC tablet in Nov 2010, cancelled at the end Jan 2011 still no refund march 2011, contacted loads of times via email same old story 30-40 days, contacted NOTW gave me media promo tel No 1322303162, all it says high volume of calls phone later, Scott S:mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -

Then we got email saying "Dear Customer, Unfortunately we are unable to supply you with the above product and have had to issue you with a full refund. Many apologies. Best Regards, Sarah" cancelling MP3 player and full refund. I called but only a voicemail message, and then emailed asking them the reason for cancellation and have not heard back.
But then a week later another email advertising the MP3 Player again! I have ordered one again. Stupid I now know but it's a present. But now that I have found this thread I'm wondering if this is all some kind of scam. Do they just send out 'too good to be true offers', take people's money, hang on to it, and then (hopefully) refund people? I haven't yet had the DVD Player or any email about it so am worried that it may not arrive now.:(
Came home today and the MP3 player I ordered has arrived. Almost. I ordered a Ministry of Sound logo MP3 player (like an ipod shuffle) for my teenage nephew and one has arrived with the Burlesque movie logo on!!!
Still no sign of the House DVD player yet although pinning my hopes on the delivery date on their site of end March. BTW, the MP3 player arrived with a comp slip from freebiegifts. Their website is here http://www.freebiegifts.co.uk So same company as mediapromotions basically...Wins include: Cushelle Koala Bear; signed Terry Pratchett book; tickets to Noisettes; Glenlivet Whisky; tickets to Henry Moore exhibition, Beyonce, ABBA world plus Red Letter Days Aston Martin driving experience. Hi all.
I'm new here but I came across this site when searching for info about freebiegifts.co.uk.
I read the Captain Cash recommendation of a cheap tablet in early Nov and ordered one. It didn't arrive until a few days before Christmas. It had a slight responsiveness problem on one side of the screen but it was slight enough to not really bother me (besides, I wasn't going to return it after it took so long to arrive!)
A couple of days after Christmas I ordered the protective leather case with keyboard, from the same site (stupid me, I know). I haven't received this.
Not only that but the touch screen responsiveness problem has worsened and the whole thing is now unusable.
I have emailed them twice mentioning both the faulty tablet and missing case, and tried phoning a number from one of their confirmation emails numerous times but no one has replied or answered the phone.0 -
i too have been conned by this firm.Still awaiting a dvd ordered mid april. newsof the worlds tickets are a joke.no reply from 4 tickets that join the queue and then disappear.Phone is temporily disconnected!!!Did you report this to someone.
I have contacted martin lewis .It is his name on the header. Can anyone suggest where igo next?0 -
Although I got the MP3 player sorted no sign of the DVD. I emailed them and on 16 May they said they had the House DVD in stock and would send it immediately. No sign of it since then and they have ignored two follow-up emails. I did threaten to report them to MoneyBox etc. I also contacted ConsumerDirect who gave me a case number and said I need to write a complaint letter to them formally. I still haven't done that as I'm always a bit slow with complaints paperwork. I guess this is the best solution. I'm so annoyed by all this. I don't know if they are taking me for a mug or are frauds. I will post below this with the consumerdirect advice in case it helps all of you to do the same. Any other advice from MSEers about how to get this company to sort out outstanding orders would be helpful to me too.i too have been conned by this firm.Still awaiting a dvd ordered mid april. newsof the worlds tickets are a joke.no reply from 4 tickets that join the queue and then disappear.Phone is temporily disconnected!!!Did you report this to someone.
