The ultimate PPI mug

Hello all,
This is my PPI story.....
Took out a LTSB credit card about 5 years ago. All agreed. No mention of PPI in the credit agreement. End of....you would think. Got a phone call from an 'LTSB advisor' telling me about this wonderful PPI product. Having not given a commitment either way, the call was eneded. A month later, PPI was shown being deducted from my balance. Thinking that I must have got the conversation wrong, I never doubted the fact it should not have been deducted each month. As I said, that was five years ago. Only recently have I seen all this PPI reclaim news, and started to investigate. Guess what....I SHOULD NEVER EVER BEEN PAYING PPI IN THE FIRST PLACE....!?!?!
I bank with LTSB, and to say I am devestated over this is an understatement. They have actually charged me PPI each month (I still have a balance of the card) without me ever signing or agreeing to it. How wrong is that ?!?
I wrote to them six weeks ago, and have heard nothing apart from an acknowledgment letter. Surely I have a case here ?!?!?
Advise please.

Good luck on your reclaiming, wonder if they would still hold the details of the telephone conversation?
I requested for recorded data from Lloyds but they only supplied these from requesting a SAR, yet I have also read somewhere that someone had received recordings by just requesting for them and they supplied free of charge.
Although its not guaranteed they will still hold them by recorded, but maybe in written transcript perhaps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I took it upon myself to ring them this afternoon, and was told that as long as I didn't 'tick the box' regarding PPI on my original credit agreement then a refund should be possible. Well, I certainly didn't 'tick any boxes' hence the reason why they phoned trying to sell the product after the card had been issued.
I was told that my eight weeks is up in 17 days, so let's hope we hear something positive before December is over.
I know I've been a bit naive over this, but isn't it terrible that your own bank can do this to you....?

I am a newcomer to forums so hope I’m in the right place???:o
I too have contacted LTSB following Martin’s very clear instructions to do so.
My first letter was completely ignored, not even an acknowledgement! I waited the required time as suggested by Martin then sent my second letter with a 14 day deadline for them to reply, this they did but only on the 14th day!
This letter said how sorry they were ‘that this situation has occurred’ and a complaints leaflet was also enclosed with the letter. The letter ended with the statement that my complaint would be dealt with as quickly as possible.
What I wondered is, do I wait or just ignore this letter and send my information to the FOS anyway?
What do you clever people suggest? Has anyone had this experience? I would be grateful of any suggestions.0 -
