We've always done well with roll ends. Lots of them are off cuts from hotels and trade so the quality is fab and the sizes can be pretty big so even the plain ones are hardwearing. You'll usually find they'll do fitting for about 30-40 in house. I'd always advocate use of a really good underlay. Makes it nice and springy and warmer and reduces wear.
Good luck!Sealed Pot Challenge #1666 - up for raising as much as poss0 -
NACKMEISTER beat me to it, always use the best underlay you can afford, this makes a cheaper carpet feel more expensive. I carpeted our through lounge 28ftx13ft at carpetRight for about £375 and it still looks good nowBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

We've just got a bedroom one from carpetright for a relatively ok price - but the gripper rods and underlay were already fitted so that brings the cost down a heck of a lot.
Was actually having a (very sad) conversation with hubby about this yesterday - how back up in the North-East where we're both from there seem to be umpteen different carpet chains, yet round here there's only carpetright and the odd independent. Quite WHY we were discussing the location of carpet chain stores is beyond me.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
If you need underlay, gripper rods and door bars try buying them yourselves, lots on ebay.Place like Carpetright are obscene for the prices they charge....something like 60p/ft for gripper whereas you can get if off ebay for 4p/ft0

If the width is 3m or less your chances of an end of roll bargain are much higher, measure the room and then have a good look in the shops, even John Lewis have end of roll bargains.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
