if you are redesignating from normal current account to high interest account - then its the same account with same numbers so no need to do anything. All you are doing is changing the title of the account

if you have done a new account all together and you were already with halifax (say a card cash and not a current acc that required a credit score to get high interest current acc) then you will need to call DD companies yourself to change

I know this - I have opened them and done many AATS transfers for customers when i was a banking adviser - if switching from another bank

what i said was - if james3333 already had a halifax account they will not do a switcher service for existing customers - only new customers who say are with another bank. so james3333 would need to call themselves if they opened a new account with new numbers. as said below

where as if already had a normal current account and simply redesignating the title, would not need to do anything
