How much unlocking of iPhone costs?

Is it worth to buy unlocked iPhone 4 16GB @ £599.99 or shall i Go for payg locked iPhone deals?

    16gb Iphohne 4 is £499 sim Free

    Vodafone do iPhone 4 for £480

    For the £20 difference I'd buiy it from Apple and know it's unlocked frolm new rather than have to have it done afterwards
