Missed call alerts. Texts you the numbers of people who've not got through to you. Just as good as 1471.
Dial 1710 to set up. Bear in mind that it will disable voicemail though.
Hope that helps!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
I only realised today that 1471 no longer works on my o2 PAYG phone. I was a little annoyed, but then realised it can be replaced with a text service. But, you can only have voicemail or the text service not both.
In the past I always had my voicemail OFF because some of my friends would moan that they got charged to be diverted to voicemail when my phone was off and didn't plan on leaving a message. Instead, they'd just be told they couldn't connect and assume my phone was off and wouldn't get charged for that. I have decided to have the text feature to replace 1471 rather than voicemail, but am annoyed that people who phone me will get charged if my phone is off! There is no other choice, and basically, they really have got us by the b*ll* on this one! :mad:0
